the first requirement is a great capacity to dream:
the second is persistance.

CCCS tests all students when entering our school. Students are put into classes that begin instruction at their entry level and help them progress.

The state NCLB testing is a one-time measure of 11th grade proficiency and does not measure the growth students make over time at CCCS. For example, a student entering CCCS as a 9th grader scoring at 5th grade in math will have to improve 6 grade levels in 2 years in order to score proficient in math by 11th grade.

Below, you will find the most current CCCS state NCLB test scores and the most current CCCS Charter Objective results.

New Mexico Standards Based Assessment Data

2010/2011 Scores

Each year, New Mexico sets a goal for student performance on the NMSBA called Adequate Yearly Progress, or AYP. Goals are set for both reading and math. Last year, CCCS made AYP in Reading with 63.64% of students who had been at CCCS for a full academic year (FAY) scoring proficient or above on that portion of the test. This was higher than the state average. On Math, CCCS narrowly missed a goal of 10% growth from the previous year, with 18.18% of FAY students scoring proficient or above on that portion of the test.

Growth

While CCCS has not always scored as well as the state average, since our opening we have exceeded the level of growth on test scores that the state has shown. The chart below shows our performance on the SBA Math and Reading tests versus the state's performance.
