the first requirement is a great capacity to dream:
the second is persistance.

TESTIMONIALS

The school treats me nice and helps me a lot. You guys have helped me catch up and get ready to graduate. It helped me get my driver’s license.

Brandon, age 18, grade 12

In the past three years, I have never completed a full year in APS. I like everything about CCS: individual work and move on as fast as we can. I like having a mentor to go see if I have a problem-no wait like other schools.

Andrea, age 16, grade 9

I’m coming along with math-paying attention is what I like. The class isn’t too big. I don’t get distracted. It’s better than a regular school, because of packets and fewer periods.

Andrew, age 18, grade 9

I love this school. The teachers help more here and it seems like the teachers care more here. It’s a smaller school, so you get more one-on-one time.

Crista, age 17, grade 12

There is less time at school. Classes are smaller. I like bigger schools, but it’s better for your work if classes are smaller.

Chris, age 16, grade 10

It’s a wonderful school, and I’m glad my kids are in the school. We moved to avoid gangs. The kids love school and want to come.

David, children in school here, 12, 15, and 17

There’s not gang activity here. Regular schools have fights and trouble. Students come here to get their life straight, do their work, and have a good time. I love this school-it is very helpful. Teachers are respectful and helpful and teaching a lot.

Brian, age 15, grade 9

I like the self-paced work. That we don’t use books, but use packets. The staff is always willing to help. It makes you want to come to school more-it pushes you. I wouldn’t be graduating if still in APS, because I wouldn’t have gotten the help needed and the support I get at CCCS.

Erica, age 18, grade 12

You can get a lot of one-on-one attention and in most schools you don’t get the attention you need. If you have trouble in regular school, you will be made fun of. Here you can ask questions and won’t be made fun of. You don’t have to worry about fights. It feels like a safe environment. Charter teachers will prevent trouble-not like in regular schools.

Lucy, age 17, grade 10

I like CCCS because it’s smaller. It’s easier for concentration. Teachers pay more attention and help more.

Latoya, age 17, grade 10

CCCS helped me by learning to like people more. I like that everybody at CCCS is nice and warm-hearted to everyone. Charter schools are better, because they help you out and you can work at your own pace. I am very thankful for all of you for being there when I needed help. When I was made you helped me be happy. You helped me on school work. You guys are just good people to be around.

Tranette, 18 years old

CCCS helped me as a charter school, because it is smaller. I like that everybody is friendly or tires. CCCS is better than a regular school, because I get more help and get more done.

Angelica C., age 17 grade 10

It has helped me by having self-paced classes and more one-on-one time. I like the way the school is and how all the teachers try to help you out. Classes are a lot smaller and, also, teachers are more helpful.

Jessica, age 17, grade 11

CCCS Charter School helps me because it’s like a one-on-one school. Teachers are there when you need help. The teachers also care about what you have planned for the future. What I like about this school is that it is small. People are friendlier, too, and you also go to school at twelve o’clock! CCCS is better than a regular school, because it’s’ small and it’s at your own pace.

Kaylene, age 19, grade 12

I was in another charter school and it was the same as APS schools. I can work at my own pace. I have less time in school, so I can work more.

Jazmin, age 19, grade 10

This school is good, because there are not that many students, and the teachers pay way more attention to their students.

Liliana, age 15, grade 9

This charter school helped me in bringing up my grades and doing better in school. It also helps me in understanding my classes better.

Thalia, age 16, grade 10

CCCS has helped me, because they follow your needs. The two things I like most about CCCS are the hours and that it’s self-paced. You don’t have to wait for your class to move on. CCCS is better than a regular school, because there’s not as many students and enough teachers to help.

Shy, age 15, reclassified freshman

CCCS has helped me a lot. At this school I have better grades and very good attendance. The thin I mostly like about this school is the way teachers work with students. This charter school is better than a regular high school, because there are fewer students and teachers have the opportunity to get more involved with their students.

Brenda, age 16, grade 10

It has helped me catch up in classes that I need. I like how all the teachers help us so well. A charter school is better, because there are fewer students and more attention for us.

Lindsay, age 17, grade 10

There are smaller classes and more one-on-one with teachers. The teachers actually know their student’s names. I feel my daughters would have already dropped out if it were not for CCCS. They are able to catch up or exceed depending on the student. I am very happy with CCCS, as long as they stay focused, the students can finish school with a high school diploma.

Cesar Chavez Community School has helped me as a charter school because I want to come to school every day. I like the hours I come to school and the way you can turn in your packets whenever you want to and you go at your own speed.

Anonymous, age 17, grade 10
